Local winds are found at lower levels of the atmosphere. These winds are induced by macro or micro scale differences in air temperature and pressure. Terrain has an influence on local winds; the more varied the terrain the greater the influence. In complex terrain or near large bodies of water,, local winds can be the prevailing daily winds, (refer to; Slope winds. Valley winds, and land and sea breeze).
