Unstable atmosphere

Unstable atmospheric conditions easily allow for vertical motion in the atmosphere where parcels of air maintain a greater temperature than their surroundings, allowing for continual rise. These conditions allow for good smoke dispersion, but also thunderstorms and increased active fire conditions.
