New Source Review (NSR) program

The EPS's New Source Review (NSR) program is a pre-construction permitting program established as part of the 1977 amendments to the Clean Air Act. The New Source Review program ensures any new or newly modified commercial or industrial facilities within areas that do not meet National Ambient Air Quality Standards will not significantly hinder air quality compliance or significantly degrade air quality.

An NSR permit is a legal document that mandates what may be constructed, sets limits on emissions, and specifies the duration of operations. For additional NSR resources click the following link: http://www.epa.gov/nsr
