PFIRS ("P-furs") serves as an interface between air quality managers, land management agencies, and individuals that conduct prescribed burning in California. It is intended to facilitate communications by providing access to a database containing information on burn planning, burn approvals, and emissions information. PFIRS will enable individuals involved in prescribed burning the ability to view this information on a statewide level.
PFIRS is a joint project of the California Air Resources Board, federal land management agencies, local air districts, and various fire agencies.
