Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS)

The primary mission of the U.S. EPA's Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS) is to improve air quality in the U.S., and prevent the decline of air quality. They do this through the following methods:

• Compiling and reviewing air pollution data
• Developing regulations to reduce air pollution
• Assisting states and local agencies with monitoring and controlling air pollution
• Making information publicly available
• Reporting the status, and reduction, of air pollutants to Congress
