The IMPROVE (Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments) network is a long-term monitoring program designed to establish the current visibility conditions, track changes in visibility, and determine causal mechanisms for visibility impairment in the National Parks and Wilderness Areas. The IMPROVE monitor measures PM2.5 mass, PM10 mass and PM2.5 chemical speciation.
