Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for developing and implementing environmental laws created by congress. The mission of EPA is to protect human health and the environment.

The EPA is responsible for the following:

• Developing and enforcing regulations
• Offering financial assistance
• Performing environmental research
• Sponsoring voluntary partnership programs
• Furthering environmental education
• Emergency response
• Publishing information
