Eastern Area Modeling Consortium (EAMC)

The Eastern Area Modeling Consortium (EAMC) is a multi-agency coalition of researchers, fire managers, air-quality managers, and natural resources managers at the Federal, State, and local levels working to:

• Increase understanding of fire behavior and smoke dispersion
• Expand knowledge of the physics of fire-atmosphere interactions on all scales
• Enhance ability to predict and respond to the dangers of prescribed fires and wildfires
• Develop products and transfer new technologies related to national and regional fire-weather and air-quality dynamics

The Eastern Area Modeling Consortium (EAMC) is the eastern modeling domain for FCAMMS (Fire Consortia for the Advanced Modeling of Meteorology and Smoke). EAMC provides 48 hour forecasts, and BlueSky smoke forecasts for the northeast region of the country.
