Burned Area Emergency Response program exists to address issues created by erosion and vegetation removal from fire (such as loss of habitat and hydrophobic soils, to name a few). BAER teams include professional hydrologists, soil scientists, engineers, biologist, silviculturalists, range conservationists, archeologists, and others who work to promptly evaluate areas and prescribe treatments to protect resources.
