Only burn when smoke dispersion conditions are favorable

• Obtain and use Fire Weather Forecasts
• Evaluate “Ventilation Index” and/or “Atmospheric Dispersion Index” information

• Don’t burn during air quality alerts or stagnation conditions

• Consider the potential for nighttime smoke problems associated with smoldering – evaluate the need to for a nighttime smoke evaluation – (e.g., evaluate Low Visibility Occurrence Risk Index (LVORI))
